At Khoo Academy of Music & Art, we pride ourselves in our Orchestra, Choir and Theory of Music group sessions. Through a variety of enriching sessions and activities, we aim to strengthen student’s musical foundation while sharpening their observation, confidence, and meaningful social interaction.

Orchestra

We take a deep considerations in our orchestra practices; both Junior and Senior. We believe it is a platform to create and present music as one, encouraging cultural enrichments where social interaction is shared among students, and artistic experiences is earned.

Through practices, rehearsals and performances, students are provided a structured environment to collaborate and unite their skills to create a harmonious and unified ensemble.

Children’s Choir

Our Children’s Choir is a joyful and interesting platform for the young students to grow, shine and connect through the beauty of singing. The choir encourages vocal skills development, confidence building, teamwork, discipline and also boosting self-esteem. The children are taught not just to listen to their own voice but also to others and see how the voice blend to create a beautiful harmony beyond words can describe.

Performance on stage allows the children to come together as one, not just among themselves but also with audience – to experience, to share, to connect and to create memories.

Kuantan Chorus

The Kuantan Chorus is a vibrant community choir that unite adults and senior citizens who share their love and passion for singing. Through our weekly practice, the members learn and refine their musical skills, build confidence by overcoming unseen challenges and also developing collaboration as well as teamwork.

Here, community and sense of belonging is fostered – a family-like atmosphere where the choir members find social connection, acceptance and a sense of shared purpose. Weekly practice is always filled with excitement, joy, fun and laughter.

Music Recitals

Our music recitals include the weekly Sunday Recitals, Tea-Time Recitals as well as the Festive-Celebrative Recitals. These recitals are formal occasions for our students to demonstrate their musical progress, gaining experiences, exposures and confidence in performing their hard-earned efforts.

Positive improvements on skills of playing is achieved through valuable feedbacks from the teachers and the audiences too. These events bring together students, teachers and families… thus creating connections, motivations, fostering creativities and encouraging consistency in practice, dedication and sense of belonging.

Activities

(Masterclasses, Music Camps, Trial Exams, Theory Quizzes)

We strongly believe that music learning is not just exchanging music notes with money notes. We aim to foster students’ holistic development, absorbing new vocabulary, enhancing their cognitive, physical, social and emotional growth through music masterclasses, music quizzes, music camps, trial exams and much more.

Music and movement activities is proven to improve coordination and balance, strengthening memory and concentration, encouraging social skills through teamwork as well as stimulating creativity and self-expression. These activities are always filled with excitement and fun!

Theory of Music – Group Lesson

As students progress to higher grades in theory of music, the concepts become more complex and challenging. To support their learning, our academy offers group lessons for Grade 6 and above.

In a group setting, students are encouraged to interact, share ideas, and engage in discussions, making learning more dynamic and effective. This environment not only helps them overcome the difficulties of advanced theory but also boosts their self-esteem as they learn to express their thoughts confidently.

By working together, students discover new perspectives, strengthen their understanding, and build the motivation to excel in their theory studies.
