On 24th June 2019, Khoo Academy launched its first English Language seminar. 

The purpose of this seminar is to boost an awareness of the benefits of language learning, enabling learners to develop invaluable 21st-century skills and let them progress in both education and the workplace. This seminar was also aimed at promoting the importance of communication skills. 

The guests were Miss Mary Ann Tear (Trinity Drama Consultant and Examiner) and Mr. U-Jin Lim (Regional Academic Consultant and Trinity Examinations National Manager).

The programme started with a poem recital, followed by the delivery of a prepared passage and an impromptu reading by the students. 
The highlight of the programme was a demonstration of a mock exam on communication. Khoo Qi Xuan presented a speech in support of a charity event followed by Edmund Kong, delivering a presentation on an idea for a business enterprise and he also presented a prepared CV for a job interview. The audience were spellbound by both their presentations and were also amazed by their command of English. Miss Mary Ann gave her feedback on the presentations of the students. The seminar ended with a ‘Question and Answer’ session with the parents.
